About the Opportunity:
Accord University is offering an exciting opportunity for volunteers to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to our freshman class during the upcoming semester starting on 1st January 2025. As part of our commitment to providing an inclusive and accessible education, we are seeking passionate and skilled volunteers to support students who are non-native English speakers.
As a volunteer ESL teacher, you will help students enhance their English language skills, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Your efforts will support their academic success and integration into university life, ensuring they can confidently participate in classes, contribute to discussions, and engage fully with their studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) to freshman students in an online format.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the needs of students at various levels of English proficiency.
- Provide individual feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their language abilities.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and interactive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure students’ academic needs are met.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in English Language, Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field.
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
- Previous teaching experience or a strong interest in education, linguistics, or related fields.
- Ability to create an engaging online learning environment.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- An interest in supporting diverse, international students.
