Visitor Center Host/Beach Attendant

ORGANIZATION: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Beech Fork Lake is seeking to fill six Beach attendant/Visitor Center host positions. Volunteers would be required to work up to 24 hours per week. There is flexibility to create a schedule that best suites all volunteers if it provides coverage during beach and visitor center hours.

Duties would include assisting the Park Ranger staff by managing and providing visitors with a quality recreational experience at the beach and visitor center. Some duties include assisting the public with questions and giving directions, assisting the public with fee machine use and pass information, promoting water safety, opening and closing the beach recreation area, and assisting Rangers with interpretive events (if interested). Volunteers stay in a beautiful and private campground just for them; referred to the Volunteer Village. Sites feature concrete pads, water, 30- and 50-amp electric hookups, and sewage. A washer and dryer are provided free of charge to volunteers. Camping units must be self-contained. There is no restroom or shower house in the campground.

The occupant(s) on each campsite will work a specific schedule that requires a maximum of 24 hours per week per site. Volunteers must commit to a long-term agreement (mid-May thru early September).
