Building Peaceful Bridges is seeking volunteers to support Grant Research and writing!
This virtual role is perfect for students, retirees, or anyone with an interest in grant
research and grant writing. The Volunteer Grant Researcher would fulfill an important
role as Building Peaceful Bridges pursues grant funding for our organization. The
individual will provide essential research to aid in the achievement of our grant-funding
goal. The volunteer will interact with the Grants Team Leader and President.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- No experience needed, just the willingness to learn. All that’s required from you
is your time and effort.
- Grant applications are open for a specified timeframe so a commitment to
complete the research by a mutually agreed upon deadline is critical. There will
not be last minute requests.
- Familiarity with Grant Station a plus, but not needed.
- Access to a computer is required.
- Goal driven, ability to self-motivate, stay on task and work independently.
- Strong time-management, organizational and internet research skills a must.

Where/When
This opportunity is remote (meaning you can work from wherever) and you can lend
your support however it works for your schedule, depending on your interests and time
commitment.
Time Commitment: Flexible, 4 - 8 hours per month. Complete grants research when
you want. Grants team Zoom meeting 1 hour per month, date and time TBD.
Role responsibilities
 Research and identify available and applicable grants.
 Research, retrieval and assembly of background materials for grant proposals.

Training and resources will be provided.

Building Peaceful Bridges is a nonprofit organization supporting people of all faiths whose mission is to foster multicultural relationships by assisting in the integration of newcomers into American society and educating communities on the challenges facing newcomer populations through their stories. BPB carries out its mission by:

  • Assisting legal refugees to integrate into American culture by financial and non-cash donations, sponsoring and mentoring families, and partnering with other organizations
  • Educating communities on the challenges refugees face during resettlement and fostering multi-cultural relationships that provide the foundation for a deeper understanding, acceptance, and support

VOLUNTEER:
Mentoring/Sponsoring Refugee Families
BPB assists in family resettlement by donating financial and non-cash assistance, establishing a community safety net, recurring monthly visits, assisting in the citizenship process, and building trust, hope, security, and empowerment.

Cultural Educational Events
BPB sponsors speaking events in local venues to foster awareness of the resettlement process as well as to educate audiences regarding refugee stories.

Pick-up and Delivery of Non-Cash donations
BPB brokers donations of food, furniture, clothing, and other household items to families during resettlement.
