Bellevue Youth Theatre is in need of individuals who can help us with various projects for maintaining and organizing our costumes. We've been in our new building for about a year now, so it's time to start updating, mending, and tracking our inventory.
Not all of the projects involve sewing, we also need help with costume organization and storage, as well as general housekeeping in the costume shop.
There are opportunities, if you are interested in sewing and want to help make, alter, and repair costumes for youth in plays. You may take some projects home or work on them right in the costume shop!
There are additional opportunities to learn costume design from our established designers, but sewing experience is a prerequisite for this position.
We costume hundreds of participants every year, so this is one of our areas of greatest need. Costuming is very important to our program; costumes help the participants find their characters and perform with self-confidence--and, of course, dressing up is just plain fun! Come be a part of the magic!
Individuals with theatrical costuming experience are welcome to come and learn what we are all about, but no professional experience is required. Please contact us to set up a meeting with Dionne Wardrop, our Volunteer Coordinator, to see how you can help out!
