Recruiting Organization: RefugeeOne
Change their lives - and yours. Organize a group of 6-10 to commit to raising support for and mentoring a refugee family. Co-sponsor teams play a critical role in helping refugees thrive in their new home by:
- Raising financial support to cover initial expenses like rent, bills, and other basic needs
- Making a home by furnishing an apartment with furniture, household goods, and groceries
- Being a friend through 6 months of weekly mentorship meetings
RefugeeOne will take care of official paperwork, schedule initial medical appointments, enroll refugees in public benefits, and enroll kids in school. We also have in-house programs for English classes, job search assistance, mental health care, and additional youth services. Your team will help a family navigate everyday life in Chicago, offer critical English language practice, and provide social support.
Your friendship and financial support can ensure a warm welcome and a strong start to life in the U.S.
Interested? Community Engagement Manager Kelli at cosponsor@refugeeone.org!
