Position: Hospice Vigil Volunteer
Role Summary: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Hospice Vigil Volunteers. In this role, you will provide a comforting presence to patients in their final hours, ensuring they are not alone. This is a deeply meaningful opportunity to offer emotional support and companionship to those at the end of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a calm and reassuring presence at the bedside of hospice patients.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with hospice staff about the patient's condition and any concerns.
- Respect patient confidentiality and adhere to all hospice policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient demeanor.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in emotionally challenging situations.
- Previous experience in a caregiving or volunteer role is a plus, but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Commitment:
- Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Training: Comprehensive training will be provided to all volunteers to ensure they are well-prepared for their role.

Ohioans Home Health & Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to join our hospice team in supporting patients and families facing end of life care. Are you someone who is kind and compassionate, looking to make a meaningful difference in your community, and able to offer companionship and support to others? If so, we encourage you to consider becoming a hospice volunteer! We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities including: patient companionship, respire care for families, assistance with errands, and administrative office support.
