Role Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to assist with an exciting project involving CRISPR-Cas9 technology to enhance osteogenic potential by targeting key genes like Runx2 and ALP. Volunteers will be an integral part of a cutting-edge research team focused on gene editing to promote bone formation and osteoblast differentiation in mice.
---
Key Responsibilities:
CRISPR gRNA Design: Assist in designing and optimizing CRISPR guide RNAs for gene targeting, focusing on genes like Runx2 and ALP.
Cell Culture: Help with the preparation and maintenance of osteoblast precursor cell cultures for gene editing.
CRISPR-Cas9 Transfection: Aid in transfecting cells with CRISPR components (Cas9 and gRNAs) and assist with screening for successful edits.
Molecular Analysis: Perform PCR, RT-PCR, and qPCR to assess gene expression changes after CRISPR editing.
Data Collection & Analysis: Assist with data collection, including gene expression analysis, protein assays (such as ALP activity), and osteogenesis assays (e.g., mineralization).
Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of experiments and results.
---
Qualifications:
Basic understanding of molecular biology and CRISPR technology.
Experience in cell culture or molecular biology techniques (PCR, gel electrophoresis, etc.) is a plus.
Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to genetic engineering research.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
---
Benefits:
Gain hands-on experience in gene editing and CRISPR-Cas9 technology.
Contribute to meaningful research aimed at advancing osteogenic therapies.
Opportunity to develop lab and research skills in a professional environment.
Mentorship from experienced researchers in the field of genetic engineering and regenerative medicine.
