Job Description:

We are looking for a meticulous Grant Writer to secure funding for STEM Canada’s various educational initiatives. As a part-time volunteer, you will work remotely, collaborating closely with our development team to identify funding opportunities, craft compelling grant proposals, and manage grant-related documentation. Your expertise in grant writing and understanding of funding landscapes will be essential in supporting our mission to enhance STEM education globally.

Location: Remote

Start Date: Immediate

Time Commitment: 4 hours per week

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government bodies, private foundations, and other funding organizations.
  • Write, edit, and submit grant proposals that effectively communicate STEM Canada’s programs and funding needs.
  • Develop and maintain a grant calendar to track application deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with program managers to gather necessary information and data for grant applications.
  • Ensure all grant proposals are compliant with funders’ guidelines and requirements.
  • Follow up with grantors to provide additional information and updates as needed.
  • Prepare grant reports and documentation to demonstrate the impact and effectiveness of funded programs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in grant writing, preferably within the nonprofit or educational sector.
  • Strong research skills to identify and evaluate funding opportunities.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to articulate complex programs and initiatives clearly and persuasively.
  • Familiarity with grant management software and databases is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
