About I'RAISE:
I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation, founded in 2012 in the heart of the North Bronx, began as a mentorship program aimed at at-risk female youth living in New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) facilities. With the visionary leadership of CEO Shanequa Moore, the organization expanded its impact, moving from a mentorship focus to addressing the critical need for mental health support for youth in public schools.
Today, I'RAISE is committed to fostering resilience, promoting well-being, and empowering youth through culturally responsive programs and advocacy for equity in mental healthcare. Through its work, I'RAISE is creating lasting social change for vulnerable children and families.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Brand Specialist Volunteer to help shape and enhance I'RAISE's brand presence. As a Brand Specialist, you will contribute to refining the strategic direction for I'RAISE's brand, ensuring it reflects our mission and resonates with key audiences. This is a remote volunteer role that offers a flexible schedule and an exciting opportunity to support a growing nonprofit with a powerful impact in the community. If you are an experienced branding professional with a passion for social impact, this opportunity will allow you to utilize your skills to make a lasting difference.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy Development
Collaborate with leadership to refine and develop I'RAISE’s overall brand strategy and messaging to ensure consistency across all communication platforms.
Visual Identity
Assist in enhancing I'RAISE's visual identity, reviewing current design elements, and ensuring they align with the mission and values of the organization.
Brand Guidelines
Develop and/or update I'RAISE’s brand guidelines, ensuring clarity around design, tone, and content strategy.
Content Creation
Advise on and create content (written and visual) that reflects the brand’s identity and engages key stakeholders, donors, and the public.
Audience Engagement
Provide insights on how to better engage target audiences through consistent brand messaging across social media, email newsletters, and other channels.
Campaign Support
Collaborate with the marketing team to create campaigns that align with I'RAISE’s brand vision, supporting events, fundraising, and awareness-building efforts.
Brand Audits
Conduct a thorough audit of current brand materials and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
Project Management
Work alongside the marketing team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with I'RAISE’s strategic goals.
Who Can Apply?
We are looking for volunteers with experience in brand strategy, marketing, and design who are passionate about creating positive change and empowering underserved youth through innovative, mission-driven initiatives.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in brand strategy, brand management, marketing, and design, preferably with nonprofit or social impact organizations.
Skilled in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) with a keen eye for visual aesthetics and consistency.
Strong ability to develop and communicate compelling brand stories that resonate with diverse audiences.
Experience in developing high-quality, engaging content for digital and print platforms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for conveying complex ideas in a simple and engaging manner.
Ability to think critically and strategically about brand positioning and audience engagement.
A strong passion for youth empowerment and making a positive difference in underserved communities.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and task management.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
