Pewaukee: Give the gift of time this holiday season as a hospice companion!
ORGANIZATION: AccentCare Hospice and Palliative Care
Please visit the new page to apply.
Are you looking for a way to give back this holiday season and beyond? What better way than to provide the invaluable gift of friendship to those who need it most!
We are in need of caring volunteers who would like to make a difference in the lives of people facing the end of their life. Specifically, we are looking for compassionate people to provide companionship and support to patients with limited visitors that want more social interaction on an ongoing basis. This may include chatting, playing music, playing cards, or holding hands.
Our volunteers are full members of our hospice team and often form close ties with the patient and their family. In our Volunteer Orientation class you will understand some of the challenges that face patients and families and ways you can bring quality of life and compassionate care to them.
As a hospice volunteer you will learn about the hospice philosophy, communicating with patients and families, family dynamics, spiritual care and the grief process.
Please consider joining our team as we honor life and offer hope to those who need us most.
