Description

OLE is seeking a proactive Virtual Software Engineer Volunteer with experience in Android Studio and proficiency in Kotlin or Java to join our Android development team. As a Virtual Android Software Engineer Volunteer, you will play a role in developing and maintaining high-quality Android applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain quality Android applications that align with OLE's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise, employing analytical skills and problem-solving techniques to deliver robust solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Report to the Senior Android Engineer and CTO.

Requirements

  • Experience in Kotlin or Java
  • Experience with Android Studio, Android SDK, and/or other relevant tools, demonstrating a foundation in mobile app development.
  • Understanding of mobile app design patterns and architecture.
  • Experience with version control system and tools such as Git and GitHub
  • Experience with Linux is a plus
  • Experience working with Raspberry Pi is advantageous
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration within the team.
  • Proactive individual who can work independently and in a team environment, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.
  • Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively, ensuring timely project delivery and team coordination.
  • Commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week for at least 3 months.
