Job Overview:
As our Social Media Manager, you’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining an engaging online presence for our youth center. You’ll work closely with our Staff and Volunteers to capture our programs, events, and daily activities, helping to showcase the impact we’re making in the community. This is an ideal position for someone who loves storytelling, photography, and social media, and is eager to contribute to a meaningful cause.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture Photos & Videos: Take photos and videos during center activities, events, and programs to use across our social media platforms.
- Content Creation: Develop visually compelling and engaging content (photos, graphics, captions, videos) to promote upcoming events, youth programs, and community initiatives.
- Scheduling & Posting: Create a content calendar and schedule posts across various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, etc.) to maintain a consistent and active online presence.
- Event Promotion: Collaborate with the team to promote events, workshops, and activities by developing creative campaigns to drive attendance and engagement.
- Community Engagement: Respond to comments, direct messages, and interact with followers to foster a positive, inclusive online community.
- Marketing Strategy: Assist with creating and executing marketing strategies to increase awareness of the center’s programs and events.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and photography (experience in non-profit or youth-focused organizations a plus).
- Proficient in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, TikTok) and basic photo/video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Lightroom).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling captions and stories.
- Creative and detail-oriented, with an eye for photography and design.
- Passion for working with young people and supporting community-driven initiatives.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with a small team.
- Flexible availability to attend and capture photos at events during evenings or weekends as needed.
