Our mission and philosophy at Apex Hospice Care, Inc., is to provide professional, quality support centering on the patient, family and caregiver. We do this by providing compassionate, respectful assistance and comfort to those who are facing life’s most challenging time.

We are requesting your help in providing companionship to our hospice patients during their final moments. As a Hospice Vigil Volunteer, you would be called to see a patient who only has hours left in life. You would be at their bedside for conversation and company; to help them pass on with calmness and peace.

Some duties/activities included in this role are:

• Conversing/Reminsicing
• Hand Holding
• Letter Writing
• Reading aloud
• Light report making

We work with your schedule; vigil visits could vary from one hour to a few dependent on your availability.

There is no experience or education required for this role.

We have several patients in need all over Orange County; we would contact you for a patient in a city near you.

This role requires:

• Background Check
• Driver's License
• Proof of auto insurance
• Proof of TB testing within last 6 months (we offer free TB testing if needed)
• One session of Orientation/Training (counts toward hours)
• Light traveling to patients' homes/communities
