Grant Writer Position for Charleston MINI Club (CMC)
The CMC Grant Writer plays a crucial role in securing funding and ensuring the financial health of the club through grant writing and management. This volunteer position works collaboratively with other committees and board members to drive the club's financial objectives and support its ongoing activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesGrant Research and Development
- Research and identify suitable grant opportunities from public and private foundations
- Develop compelling, viable grant proposals that align with CMC's strategic goals and capacity
Grant Writing and Submission
- Draft and submit persuasive grant proposals, including detailed project objectives and budgets
- Prepare and compile all components of each grant submission
- Ensure proposals are formatted and submitted in accordance with granting agency requirements
Grant Management
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all grant requirements
- Track project milestones and prepare progress reports for funders
- Manage the grant lifecycle, implementing standard operating procedures for grant processes
Financial Oversight
- Collaborate with the Treasurer to maintain financial integrity of grant funds
- Develop project budgets and write budget narratives for grant proposals
- Provide regular financial reports related to grants to the Board of Directors
Communication and Collaboration
- Work with the Communications Committee to develop grant-related promotional materials
- Collaborate across departments to ensure grant activities support CMC's strategic initiatives
- Maintain relationships with funding organizations
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare interim and final grant reports
- Analyze the effectiveness of grant-funded programs
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Board of Directors
The ideal Grant Writer candidate should possess:
- Excellent writing and analytical skills, with a proven track record in grant writing
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Experience in non-profit development and reporting
- Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures
- Proficiency in research and data analysis
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Passion for the MINI community and club activities
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing and management
- Knowledge of federal, state, and community funding sources and mechanisms
