Web Designer Position for Charleston MINI Club (CMC)
The CMC Web Designer plays a crucial role in shaping the visual identity and user experience of the club's online presence. As part of the Technology Committee and working under the guidance of the Club's Presidents, this position focuses on creating an attractive, functional, and user-friendly website that represents the spirit of the MINI community.
Key ResponsibilitiesWebsite Design
- Create and implement visually appealing designs for the CMC website
- Develop a cohesive visual style that aligns with the club's branding
- Design intuitive user interfaces and navigation structures
User Experience (UX) Optimization
- Conduct user research and implement UX best practices
- Create wireframes and prototypes for new features or redesigns
- Ensure the website is accessible and easy to use for all members
Responsive Design
- Implement responsive design principles to ensure optimal viewing across various devices
- Test and optimize the website's appearance on desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Webmaster to implement designs within the Joomla platform
- Coordinate with other committees to understand and meet their design needs
- Gather feedback from club members and incorporate it into design improvements
Visual Asset Creation
- Design graphics, icons, and other visual elements for the website
- Create templates for recurring content types (e.g., event pages, news articles)
- Ensure consistency in visual elements across the website
The ideal Web Designer candidate should possess:
- Strong portfolio demonstrating web design skills
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma)
- Understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design techniques
- Familiarity with content management systems, particularly Joomla
- Excellent visual communication and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to receive and incorporate feedback effectively
- Passion for design and the MINI community
