Webmaster Position for Charleston MINI Club (CMC)
The CMC Webmaster plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the club's online presence, ensuring a smooth and secure digital experience for members and visitors. This position is part of the Technology Committee and works under the guidance of the Club's Presidents.
Key ResponsibilitiesWebsite Maintenance
- Manage and update the CMC website using the Joomla platform
- Ensure regular content updates and functionality improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly
Forum Management
- Oversee the newly added forum, ensuring its proper functioning
- Moderate forum discussions and manage user accounts
- Implement and maintain forum rules and guidelines
Security and Backups
- Implement and maintain robust security measures for the website
- Perform regular data backups to prevent loss of important information
- Stay updated on the latest web security practices and implement as needed
Technical Support
- Provide technical assistance to club members and other committee members
- Collaborate with other committees to implement their online requirements
- Offer guidance on best practices for web content and user experience
Performance Optimization
- Monitor website performance and implement improvements as needed
- Ensure the website is responsive and accessible across various devices
- Optimize loading times and user interface for better engagement
The ideal Webmaster candidate should possess:
- Proficiency in web development and content management systems, particularly Joomla
- Understanding of web security principles and best practices
- Experience in forum management and moderation
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users
- Passion for technology and the MINI community
