Public Relations Officer Position for Charleston MINI Club (CMC)
The CMC Public Relations Officer plays a crucial role in shaping the club's public image, fostering community relationships, and supporting various communication initiatives. This position is integral to the Communications Committee and works closely with the Board and other committees to enhance the club's outreach and engagement efforts.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedia Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets
- Secure media coverage for club events and initiatives
- Draft and distribute press releases and media kits
Communication Strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms
- Create diverse content to educate the public about CMC and its activities
Community Engagement
- Plan and execute community outreach events and collaborations
- Foster communications with donors, volunteers, and potential sponsors
- Promote fundraising events and initiatives to attract community support
Crisis Communication
- Prepare and manage crisis communication plans
- Act as a spokesperson during challenging situations
- Provide guidance to the Board on public-facing communications during crises
Content Creation
- Develop engaging content for various communication channels
- Collaborate with the Social Media team to ensure cohesive messaging
- Create promotional materials for events and initiatives

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in public relations, journalism, or related field
