The Board of Directors of Groveport Community School is seeking a committed Board Member to serve on the School's governing body. The School operates in the Columbus area. Experience with non-profit boards, strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interpret financial statements (or a commitment to learn about community school finances) is preferred.

The Board is committed to fulfilling the School's mission of providing an equitable education in a nurturing learning environment that ensures all students will be successful. Experience in any of the following areas is encouraged, but not required: Finance/Accounting, Education, Legal, Human Resources, Public Health, Marketing and Communication and Strategic Planning.

Board Members are asked to actively participate on the Board and with the goings-on of the School. Board Members may be asked to participate in working groups outside of the Board and participate in the evaluation of the operations of the School and its leaders.

The Board typically has 10 regularly scheduled meetings throughout the year, and special meetings may be required. The Board also has an annual retreat in July which Board Members are expected to participate in.
