Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Children's Fairyland

Holiday lights

For one magical night, Children's Fairyland transforms into a 21+ winter wonderland that’s part magic, part music, part soul, and all party!

As part of the event preparation, we are looking for a group of 10-15 volunteers to help light up the park. The project will involve stringing lights to bushes and wrapping around play sets. No climbing ladders or tools will be required. This is a great group/community bonding volunteer for your team.

Mission Statement

Children’s Fairyland sparks imagination and a desire to learn by bringing stories to life through immersive experiences. Nestled lakeside in Oakland, Children's Fairyland creates a magical world of wonder that delights visitors of all ages - especially children - through attractions, performances, animals, gardens, programming, and community partnerships.

Description

Children’s Fairyland is the country’s first storybook theme park, opening our doors in 1950. The park creates a magical world of wonder that delights visitors of all ages-especially children-boasting 40 whimsical, storybook-themed exhibits, eight acres of gardens, gentle animals, and educational programs centered on the transformative power of storytelling. In 1994, management of Children’s Fairyland transitioned from a public park to a nonprofit dedicated to Oakland children. Approximately 150,000 visitors explore the park each year.
