The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.
Position Overview:
The Hematology Teaching Assistant supports faculty in delivering courses focused on hematology, assisting students, and providing guidance to ensure a comprehensive understanding of blood-related sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching Support: Facilitate discussions, review sessions, and office hours for topics related to blood biology, hematopoiesis, and disorders.
- Grading: Evaluate assignments, quizzes, and exams, while maintaining detailed student performance records.
- Student Assistance: Help students grasp the fundamentals and advanced concepts of hematology, including laboratory techniques.
- Material Preparation: Assist in developing study guides, lab manuals, and educational content.
- Safety and Resources: Ensure students understand and adhere to lab safety protocols when applicable and maintain up-to-date resources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Medicine, or a related field; graduate students in medical or biological sciences are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hematology principles, including blood composition and related disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
- Ability to present complex scientific concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
