Join Brilliant Detroit’s 2024 Giving Tuesday Campaign: Growing Readers, Building Leaders

As Brilliant Ambassadors we encourage you to engage with your personal and professional networks, inviting them to support Brilliant Detroit through a commitment of time, talent, or treasure by midnight on December 9, 2024. The Brilliant Detroit Development and Communications team has created mission-centric outreach materials, allowing Ambassadors to easily share our story of building "kid success" and highlight the "brilliant heroes" who’ve already invested their time, talent, and treasure to support literacy and leadership programs across Detroit.

Campaign Timing

Our campaign runs from November 26 to December 9, 2024. During this week, your voice will help us raise awareness and reach new supporters, setting a powerful example of community giving.

From the Tuesday before Thanksgiving through December 9th, our communications team will be sharing impactful stories and rallying support for Giving Tuesday through our $24 campaign-designed to inspire new, engaged donors in our neighborhoods. You can start building a buzz about the campaign as early as Tuesday, November 26, 2024 by sharing Brilliant Detroit’s social media posts with your network and tagging your friends!

We have secured a generous matching grant for this Giving Tuesday; all donations will be matched up to $10,000 ! Here’s how your donations will foster literacy and leadership for children across our hubs.

• $24 Growing Readers: Provide books for our kids.

• $100 Curious Learners: Supply 10 meals to support young readers.

• $250 Building Leaders: Fund family programming to foster future leaders.

These key giving levels are featured on our donation form to align with our campaign’s goals, making it easy for your network to understand the impact of their contribution.

Prioritize Personal Outreach
Your role as an Ambassador centers on personal outreach. By connecting directly with your network through emails, phone calls, texts, or handwritten notes, you can share why this campaign resonates with you and how their support can make a meaningful difference for Detroit’s children. Personal Outreach Goal: Aim to reach at least 24 people in your network.

Amplify Your Message on Social Media
We recently rebranded all social media with the launch of Brilliant Cities! Check out our new Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter)! Social Media Goal: Create at least 1 social media post and tag at least 5 people.

Suggested Social Media Posts

Post on social media between November 26 - December 6 to let your followers know you are fundraising for Brilliant Detroit. We recommend posting a minimum of three times during the Giving Tuesday campaign time frame listed above.
