Empower change by utilizing your professional expertise to ensure that fewer youths have to face challenges like skipped meals, gun violence, and poverty. At Season to Soar, we are committed to equipping underserved youth with the support they need to overcome these circumstances.

The Program Committee Chair plays a pivotal role in Season to Soar, overseeing the coordination, execution, and communication of the organization's key programs. This volunteer, unpaid position serves as both a project manager and a communication hub for the Program Committee, facilitating effective collaboration and ensuring the successful implementation of Season to Soar's initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Distribute tasks and projects among committee members.
  • Maintain the committee's project management tool Asana, consistently updating records to reflect tasks, deadlines, and responsible parties.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing delays, and obstacles.
  • Communicate committee developments, outcomes, and updates.
  • Manage and respond to emails received in the committee's email account, forwarding relevant messages to team members as needed.
  • Participate in regular Board Meetings to discuss progress, strategize, and address challenges.
  • Lead Program Committee meetings, creating agendas, facilitating discussions, and ensuring efficient use of time.
  • Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with committee members to provide support and gather insights.

Time Commitment:

Estimated commitment of 2 hours per week, including committee and chair meetings, individual member meetings, communication oversight, and project management.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Season to Soar's mission and commitment to making a difference in underserved communities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with an ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey information clearly and facilitate productive discussions.
  • Leadership experience, including the ability to motivate and guide a team of volunteers.
  • Must be based out of Chicago or the surrounding area.
