Project Overview

Fairy Winterland at Children’s Fairyland has been a Bay Area tradition for nearly twenty years! This festive multicultural celebration of global traditions, winter holidays, and end-of-year rituals brings communities together and illuminates the shared truths that unite us all.

This year, Winterland takes place during the day, harvesting the magic of a crisp chill in the air, the icy blue of December sky, and 13 reasons to wear matching sweaters! A most enchanting experience immerses you and your loved ones in the charm and cozy togetherness of a holiday extravaganza.

Volunteer jobs:

• Barista: serving toasty beverages
• Greeter: pass out goodie bags to kiddos
• Crafter: support our arts and crafts activities
• All jobs include set up and take down

About Children's Fairyland
A favorite way to think of our park was summed up in San Francisco magazine. Children’s Fairyland, they said, is "as miniature and uncynical as a toddler’s beating heart." We agree. Children’s Fairyland is, in many ways, a timeless reminder of the joys of standing three-feet tall.

Project Requirements & Important Notes

• Close-toed shoes recommended, dress comfortably. We are 100% outdoors. Hats and sunscreen highly recommended.

• Volunteers will meet at the giant shoe outside the entrance.

• Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time. If you are interested in signing up as a group, please email sarah@handsonbayarea.org. For a one-time $50 group sign-up fee, we can assist your team with signing up. Please note we are unable to customize our commUNITY calendar projects and are unable to increase the number of spots that are available.
