Compassionate companions is a program designed to provide door-through-door assistance for seniors, and adults with identified disabilities to NON-EMERGENCY medical appointments.
The Volunteer Companion will arrive at the client's home, escort them to their appointment in an an agency provided car service (ie, Uber or Lyft), wait with them, and escort them back to their residence.
This program will ensure that our clients have the ability to attend their preventative and maintenance medical appointments, with a companion for support.
Volunteers will have the ability to choose appointments via a calendar schedule. Schedules will fluctuate- mostly daytime and afternoon availability needed. Companions will report directly to clients home for pick up and drop off.
Volunteers must submit to a background check. An online training is provided.
