Position Overview:
The Dermatology Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching topics related to dermatology, assists students in understanding skin-related sciences, and contributes to fostering an engaging learning environment.
Location: Remote
Time commitment: 2 to 6 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching Support: Conduct discussion sessions, hold office hours, and assist with lectures focused on dermatological concepts and practices.
- Grading: Evaluate student assignments, quizzes, and exams, ensuring timely and accurate feedback.
- Student Assistance: Provide one-on-one or group support to help students comprehend topics such as skin anatomy, common disorders, and treatments.
- Content Development: Assist in preparing course materials, study guides, and quizzes.
- Resource Management: Ensure that learning resources are up-to-date and accessible to students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Medicine, or a related field; graduate students in dermatology or medical sciences are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dermatology principles, including skin physiology and common conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience is an asset.
- Ability to make complex concepts understandable and engaging for diverse learners.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
