Help ensure a youth's voice is heard in the courtroom by becoming a CASA volunteer!
When paired with a CASA, youth in foster care receive access to vital supports sooner, longer, and with more consistency than youth without advocates. The services they receive while in care can help determine their long term outcomes and you can help determine what those services are.
As a CASA volunteer, you’ll spend an average of 10 hours each month meeting with your case youth and advocating to professionals on their case. With this time investment, you will have a direct impact on the services they are able to recieve while in foster care.
Join us at an upcoming information session to learn how to get started. Together, let’s ensure every child has what they need to thrive.

About Voices for Children

Mission Statement
Voices for Children transforms the lives of abused children in San Diego County by providing them with volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). We believe that every child deserves a safe and permanent home, and to that end, will review and monitor every court file in the system, provide a CASA to every child in the foster care system who needs one, and advocate to improve the lives of San Diego County’s foster children.
Description
CASAs can change the trajectory of a foster child’s life. They focus on an individual child’s needs, working one-on-one with a child or set of siblings. They provide a source of consistency and stability, visiting with their case children at least once a month. CASAs gather information from files and reports and communicate with social workers, family members, school officials, and other professionals in the children’s lives. They use this information and firsthand observations to advocate for the children’s best interests in Court, as well as in other aspects of their lives, such as education, health, and living arrangements. No experience is necessary! We provide all the training you’ll need, as well as a dedicated staff supervisor to partner with you on the case. With just 10-15 hours a month, you can make a difference in the life of a foster child!
