Job Description:
As a Nephrology Teacher Assistant, you will support instructors in delivering interactive and
engaging lessons about kidney function and the urinary system. Your role will include assisting in
the preparation of educational materials, guiding students through virtual labs, and promoting a
thorough understanding of nephrology concepts tailored to students aged 8-17.
Responsibilities:
* Assist instructors in delivering lessons and activities related to nephrology topics such as kidney anatomy, renal physiology, and common kidney diseases.
* Support the planning and execution of virtual labs, simulations, and interactive discussions
to engage students effectively.
* Monitor student participation and performance, providing constructive feedback to both
students and lead instructors.
* Help develop and adapt lesson plans to suit the age group and comprehension levels of
students.
* Manage technical and logistical tasks, including setting up virtual tools, presentations, and
troubleshooting minor issues.
* Foster an inclusive and encouraging learning environment that promotes curiosity and
engagement in nephrology and STEM education.
Qualifications:
* Pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree in Nephrology, Biomedical Sciences, Nursing, or related medical field.
* Solid knowledge of kidney anatomy, renal system physiology, and common nephrology
concepts.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics in an age-appropriate
manner.
* Familiarity with vivirtual teaching platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom) and digital
teaching tools.
* Prior experience in education, online tutoring, or working with children is an asset.
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Requirements:
* Recent Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance Check.
* Reliable internet connection and access to a computer with video conferencing
capabilities.
* Passion for STEM education and inspiring students in medical sciences.
