Company Overview: The Center for Societal Aspiration (CSA) is a startup 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to rehabilitating vulnerable members of the community, including those facing addiction, homelessness, and poverty through socially driven technology.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated UI/UX Designer Volunteer to join our team as a volunteer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to user interface and user experience design in a nonprofit setting. The UI/UX Designer will assist in creating engaging and user-friendly digital products, directly supporting projects that make a difference in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • User Research:
    Conduct user research and gather feedback through surveys and usability testing to inform design decisions.

  • Wireframing and Prototyping:
    Create wireframes and prototypes using design tools (such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD) to visualize design concepts and user flows.

  • UI Design:
    Develop user interface elements that align with CSA’s brand identity and improve user experience, in collaboration with the design team.

  • Design Feedback:
    Participate in design critiques, provide constructive feedback on team projects, and integrate suggestions to refine your own designs.

  • Documentation:
    Document design processes, and create user personas and journey maps to guide future projects.

  • Design Trends:
    Stay informed on current design trends and best practices, sharing insights to foster innovation within the team.

  • Accessibility Awareness:
    Incorporate accessibility standards into your designs, ensuring inclusivity for all users.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.

  • Familiarity with front-end development (HTML/CSS) is a plus but not required.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Passion for nonprofit work and a commitment to CSA’s mission of supporting vulnerable populations.
