Help make the Lindsay Wildlife Experience's mission of connecting people with wildlife to inspire responsibility and respect for the world we share possible through our educational programs.
What you would do
- Assist staff with a number of field trip and outreach classroom programs that engage our community
- Work closely with our ambassador animals
- Work with a growing collection of natural history specimens
- Inspire the next generation of conservation heros
Opportunities Available
- Exhibit Hall
- Commit to a weekly shift either in the morning or afternoon
- Work with other exhibit hall volunteers to connect with guests and create special moments in our exhibit hall
- Field Trips
- Available Tuesday-Friday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and 11:40 a.m.
- Work in groups of 2-4 to deliver 80 minute educational programs at the LWE facility to a classroom from PreK - 5th grade
- Lindsay in the classroom
- Available Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Times vary based on bookings
- Wildlife Educators work with a staff member to deliver 60 minute educational programs offsite at the schools location to students Pre-K - 5th grade
- Available Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
We ask that our Wildlife Educators commit to donating their time to at least 3 school programs a month (about 9 hours a month) or at least 3 shifts a week in our exhibit hall

Description
Lindsay Wildlife Experience is a unique natural history and environmental education center where live, wild animals are just inches away. Founded in 1955 by Alexander Lindsay, Lindsay's programs and services are designed to help people understand human impact on wildlife. More than 5,500 injured or orphaned native California animals are treated at our wildlife hospital every year and 40,000 school children learn about the wonders of nature through classroom programs and tours.

- No prior experience required, we provide all the training you will need! We do ask that candidates be comfortable in front of audiences or be ready to practice and learn that skill! This position may require a good amount of bending and standing.
