Challenging people with disabilities to discover their purpose, talents, and strengths through the transforming power of adventure.

At Waypoint Adventure, we recognize the willful spirit inside each of us, and we help unleash it. Free it. We see adventure as a teacher, one that breathes confidence into us all. Once you’ve taken on that challenge of adventure... you’ll begin to invite opportunities that can change the way you think and transform your life. Where "I can’t" becomes "Yes, I can", Waypoint Adventure is here to help free what’s possible.

At Waypoint Adventure, we lead adventure education programs for people with disabilities, and we need awesome volunteers like YOU! Volunteers are the people who enable Waypoint Adventure to fulfill its mission. Each volunteer is an invaluable part of this organization. No prior experience required, but trainings offered periodically. By volunteering on programs or around the office, you help challenge people with disabilities to discover their purpose, potential, and abilities through the transforming power of adventure!

Ready to join the adventure? Once we receive your VolunteerMatch interest message, a Waypoint Adventure Program Staff member will connect with you promptly with next steps. Want to jumpstart the process? Fill out the New Volunteer Form to get things rolling! We can’t wait to welcome you to the Waypoint Adventure Volunteer Team!

All volunteers should be belay certified with Central Rock Gym. If you are not certified with CRG, you will need to take a test.

About Waypoint Adventure

Location:

453 Concord Ave, Lexington, MA 02421, US

Mission Statement

Waypoint’s mission is to challenge youth and adults with disabilities to discover their purpose, talents and strengths through the transforming power of adventure.

Description

Waypoint Adventure is a non-profit organization that runs adventure education programs for people with disabilities. We work with all ages and all ability levels. We run 11 different program types: indoor/outdoor rock climbing, indoor/outdoor kayaking, canoeing, hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking, cycling, cross-country skiing, ropes courses, and team building. We collaborate with school groups, social service organizations, families and individuals to design programs that meet their goals and objectives. These programs are not just about having fun on a boat ride, climbing high on a rock or sliding down a zip line. They are about positive individual and group development. They’re about building social and character skills and transforming people’s views of themselves and their abilities.

Waypoint’s vision is that all people, regardless of ability, will have opportunities for adventure; through adventure, people realize their personal value, strengths and abilities and ultimately become stronger individuals and community members.
