Volunteers Make a Difference!!
If you have a passion for caring for others and are looking for a way to make a difference in people's lives, consider becoming a hospice volunteer. Our volunteers are an important part of our hospice care team, helping to improve the quality of life for patients, their families and their caregivers.
We are looking for great volunteers that are willing to assist in various capacities. Training is provided and volunteers are supervised by a volunteer coordinator and are supported by other members of the patient care team. Some examples of volunteer needs: offering companionship, playing chess, cards or board games, knitting or scrapbooking, providing support at time of death, veteran to veteran visits, making weekly "tuck-in" calls, making bereavement phone calls or visits, administrative support and much more.

Description
Amedisys Hospice, seeks compassionate people to become volunteers and a part of our team in various locations in Johnstown, PA and surrounding areas. As a hospice volunteer, you would provide companionship and emotional support to our patients and their families. It can be a simple as a visit with a patient just to chat or read to them or simply brighten their day! However, if you have special talents that you'd really like to share, we offer pet therapy, music therapy and art therapy to our patients.
A hospice volunteer is a special person that's made the conscious decision to make a difference in the lives of others. Can you even offer 1-2 hours of your time per month? We're very flexible! Our company takes great pride in the fact that we offer trained volunteers. Are you a Veteran? We're always looking for Vets to connect with our Veteran patients!
If you'd like to volunteer, but not as a direct volunteer, we can always use help in our office with mailings, etc. I'm certain that if you're interested in helping, we can find a way for you to do that. Email us today so we can send you a simple link to click to the application.
