Recruiting Organization: Dyslexia Alliance for Black Children

The Dyslexia Alliance for Black Children (DABC) is a national non-profit created by parents, educators, and advocates driven by the urgent need to alleviate the double disparity of unaddressed Dyslexia and racism.

We are seeking Board members with nonprofit leadership or nonprofit accounting backgrounds for Board positions. We are also seeking Board members to develop and lead fundraising strategies. Applicants with expertise in organizational development (with an equity driven lens) are encouraged to apply.

Board members must be deeply aligned with our mission to eliminate the amplified inequities experienced by Black children with dyslexia. Board member must be committed to govern in accordance with our core values. DABC’s work is deeply rooted in equity and dismantling systems of oppression. Our values align with liberatory and abolitionist strategies and challenge racism, ableism, and all "-isms." We use a historical lens and a social identity lens (the work of intersectionality) to do this deep and transformative work.
