Dinosaur Ridge is a world-famous National Natural Landmark (a unit of the National Park Service) in Morrison Colorado, the site of the world’s first Stegosaurus discovery, and it includes the #1 dinosaur tracksite in the nation, as ranked by paleontologists. In recent years, we have had between 200,000-250,000 visitors. Friends of Dinosaur Ridge is a non-profit organization that cares for Dinosaur Ridge, protecting the site and educating visitors. Visitors can tour the exhibit hall, and/or experience the wonders of the ridge through guided bus tours, audio tours, or walking tours. Dinosaur Ridge also conducts tours for school groups and the public all year long and runs award-winning summer and winter camps for kids. We have a staff of nearly 30 year-round, up to 50 during the busy summer months. We operate mostly on Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) land andoperate as licensees under JCOS. We are the largest "Tier III" organization in the Science and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD).Our goal is to be a fun, educational, inclusive, and welcoming place for every dinosaur lover in Colorado and around the world.
