Flatbush Cats is a TNR-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to end the cat overpopulation crisis in Brooklyn.
Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that provides hands-on support to the cats in our care, working alongside like-minded community members?
We are seeking Community Cat Volunteers to help the feeding, cleaning and general upkeep of our holding space and cats. In this position, you will play a critical role in our Community Cat program. This program is designed to have the highest possible impact towards reducing the outdoor cat population. Here, you will support the feeding of the cats in our holding area (called: holding space) where we safely take care of cats and kittens who are in the process of TNR (trap-neuter-return) or need medical attention.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Community Cat Volunteer plays a key role in our ability to reduce our outdoor cat population. We ask community cat volunteers to sign up for at least, two 1 hour shifts per month. The holding space is open for morning (7-8am) and evening (7-8pm) shifts with some other opportunities outside of these hours.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Feeding and cleaning for cats in traps and crates within the holding space
- Assisting general maintenance of the holding space
- Equipment and supply upkeep and cleaning

This role has no hourly requirement, and the time commitment can vary based on your schedule/if there are shifts available - flexible scheduling.
