Position: Event Organizer
Committee: Ending Violence Against Women
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - Virtual and In-Person)

About the Role: Austin NOW is looking for a passionate and organized individual to join the Ending Violence Against Women Committee as an Event Organizer. In this role, you will plan and execute impactful events, rallies, workshops, and fundraisers aimed at addressing violence against women and raising community awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage events, including educational workshops, community rallies, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with committee members to develop event themes, goals, and logistics.
  • Coordinate with local partners, vendors, and venues to ensure successful event execution.
  • Promote events through social media, email outreach, and community partnerships.
  • Track event metrics and gather feedback to improve future initiatives.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in event planning or community organizing (preferred, but not required).
  • Passionate about gender justice and addressing violence against women.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Able to dedicate 5-10 hours per month, including some evenings or weekends for events.

Our organization hosts monthly meetings and collaborates with other organizations and NOW chapters across Texas and the United States. Austin NOW attends events like the Austin Women’s March, as well as rallies and protests throughout the year.

NOW has hundreds of chapters and hundreds of thousands of members and activists in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
