Volunteer Job Posting: Reproductive Justice Outreach Liaison
Organization: Austin NOW
Position: Reproductive Justice Outreach Liaison (Volunteer)
Commitment: 5-10 hours per week, flexible schedule
Location: Remote/Hybrid (Austin, TX area preferred)
About the Role:
Are you passionate about advocating for reproductive rights and connecting with the community? Austin NOW is looking for a dynamic and dedicated volunteer to join our Reproductive Rights and Justice Committee as an Outreach Liaison. In this role, you will be building strong partnerships with local organizations, managing community outreach efforts, and helping to amplify our advocacy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build Relationships: Establish and maintain partnerships with local nonprofits, clinics, advocacy groups, and community leaders to advance reproductive justice initiatives.
- Community Outreach: Plan and execute outreach events, workshops, and educational campaigns to engage the public and raise awareness on reproductive justice issues.
- Advocacy Coordination: Collaborate with the committee’s Policy Advocate to support campaigns related to abortion access, contraceptive rights, and comprehensive sex education.
- Communication: Act as a key point of contact between Austin NOW and partner organizations, sharing updates, resources, and opportunities for collaboration.
- Event Support: Assist in organizing events, rallies, and informational sessions focused on reproductive health and rights.
Qualifications:
- Strong passion for reproductive justice and a commitment to advancing women’s rights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in community outreach, organizing, or partnership-building (preferred, but not required).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable using communication tools like email, Slack, and Zoom.
