About Us:
Austin NOW is a local chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW), dedicated to advancing women’s rights and social justice. Our Reproductive Rights and Justice Committee advocates for safe and legal abortion, access to contraception, and comprehensive reproductive health education for all.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate Social Media Coordinator to join our Reproductive Rights and Justice Committee. This volunteer will play a crucial role in managing our online presence, promoting events, and sharing educational content to engage and inform our community on key issues affecting reproductive justice.
Responsibilities:
- Create and curate compelling content for Austin NOW’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, and TikTok) focused on reproductive rights.
- Develop a monthly content calendar to plan posts, updates, and promotional materials for events.
- Collaborate with the committee to highlight campaigns, legislative updates, and action alerts.
- Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages, and build a community of informed advocates.
- Track social media analytics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
- Stay updated on current events and news related to reproductive justice to ensure timely and relevant posts.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, including content creation and engagement strategies.
- Passionate about reproductive rights and social justice issues.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create engaging and educational content.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Spark, or similar design tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in social media management is preferred but not required.
