The Director of Community Engagement is responsible for strengthening the nonprofit's relationships with the local and global community, ensuring the foundation’s mission is supported by diverse stakeholders. This individual works closely with community members, leaders, partners, and volunteers to create programs, events, and initiatives that promote engagement and awareness of the foundation's goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Community Building:

Develop and implement strategies to engage with various community groups, organizations, and stakeholders.

Act as the face of the organization in the community, representing the foundation at community events, conferences, and local meetings.

2. Program Development:

Design and lead community engagement programs that align with the foundation’s mission, ensuring they are accessible, inclusive, and impactful.

Collaborate with other directors and departments to integrate community feedback into the foundation’s initiatives.

3. Partnerships:

Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, government agencies, and other nonprofits to expand the foundation’s reach and resources.

Seek opportunities for collaboration that will advance the nonprofit’s goals and strengthen its position within the community.

4. Volunteer Coordination:

Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers, ensuring that they are aligned with the nonprofit’s mission and values.

Create volunteer programs that provide meaningful engagement opportunities and promote community involvement.

5. Outreach and Communication:

Develop outreach strategies to raise awareness about the foundation's work, including social media campaigns, newsletters, and public speaking engagements.

Work closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications to ensure consistent messaging and community involvement.

6. Feedback and Evaluation:

Gather feedback from community members to understand their needs and how the foundation can better serve them.

Evaluate community engagement efforts and make recommendations for improvements to ensure that the foundation’s programs remain relevant and effective.

Skills & Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups.

Experience in community outreach, engagement, and program development.

Knowledge of nonprofit management, particularly in community-based work.

Passion for the nonprofit’s mission and the ability to inspire others to engage.

Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Ability to work collaboratively with other directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
