We are seeking a compassionate and driven Community Outreach Specialist to establish and nurture relationships with organizations, businesses, and service providers that can support our participants as they transition from intimate partner violence. This individual will play a vital role in expanding So Far So Close’s network of partners, enabling us to offer more robust resources in employment, housing, healthcare, and education to empower survivors in rebuilding their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Partnerships: Proactively reach out to businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and other organizations to build partnerships that support the needs of survivors in areas such as employment, housing, mental health services, legal aid, and vocational training.

  • Community Engagement: Serve as the primary representative of So Far So Close at community events, conferences, and other public engagements to raise awareness of our mission and foster new collaborations.

  • Resource Identification: Identify resources and opportunities that align with the needs of our program participants, including job placement programs, educational scholarships, mentorship initiatives, and transitional housing options.

  • Relationship Management: Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with community partners, providing regular updates on the program's impact and exploring new ways to collaborate to support our mission.

  • Advocacy and Awareness: Collaborate with the program team to advocate for policies that benefit survivors of domestic violence and formerly incarcerated individuals. Assist with creating awareness campaigns to reduce stigma around reentry.

  • Reporting and Evaluation: Track the effectiveness of partnerships and collaborations, providing regular reports to leadership. Assess the outcomes of community engagement efforts to continuously improve outreach strategies.
