We are first of all looking for people who care deeply about homelessness and poverty and are willing to put time and energy into doing something about this issue. We feel strongly that housing should be a human right and that the number of individuals and families without housing is a tragedy. We support the Homeless Bill of Rights and the Right to Rest. We do not believe in criminalizing homelessness. If you agree with us, then we could use your volunteer service on one of our committees. Committees usually meet monthly, often using the internet but sometimes in person. Committee members volunteer for responsibilities such as representing us at another meeting, handing out packages to chronically homeless people, mentoring a homeless family, or even stuffing envelopes. There is plenty of work between meetings. You decide what work you can do for the committee and you do that work when it is convenient for you. There is no end date and the start date depends on what committee you serve on but this system requires that we give a start and end date.
