Requirements: ⁃ Python experience needed ⁃ Free on 11/30 from 9am - 12pm CST You’ll get 3 certified volunteer hours after the hackathon concludes! Below are guidelines to help coaches support students effectively as they work on their projects. Key Guidelines: 1. Student Coding Language: * Students must code in the programming language they’re currently learning in their class (Python). This is to ensure that they’re applying skills and concepts they’ve been studying. 2. Team Structure: * Each team consists of students from the same class. They will work collaboratively as a unit throughout the hackathon. 3. Project Topic Selection: * Teams can choose their own topics, but all team members must agree on the final choice to foster teamwork and ensure everyone's engagement. 4. Tutoring Approach: * Tutors are encouraged to provide guidance by answering student questions, explaining concepts, or helping with debugging. * Avoid giving direct answers or doing the work for students. Instead, focus on fostering problem-solving skills and encouraging independent thinking. 5. Project Submission Process: * At the end of the hackathon, one designated student from each team will email their project code to the CODEify email. * Email Subject Format: {CLASS NAME}| {PROJECT NAME/TOPIC}| {WAY TO RUN CODE (e.g., Replit)} * Email Body Requirements: * List the names of all team members at the beginning. * * Paste the project code directly in the email body to ensure easy access and review.
