Responsibilities Include:

  • Welcome and check-donors
  • Answer donor questions and explain the donation process as necessary
  • Ensure each donor reads pre-donation materials
  • Offer promotional items when available
  • Manage donor flow and communicate with Vitalant staff as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Set up and maintain cleanliness in Reception and Refreshment areas
  • Keep the refreshment area clean and restocked
  • Ensure donors are offered a snack and drink after their procedure.
  • Check to see if the donors were provided post-donation information before leaving
  • Report any adverse post-donation physical reactions to staff

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check with SSN if 18 or older
  • Ability to effectively communicate and provide excellent customer service
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor
  • Comfortable working with people from diverse communities and backgrounds
  • Commit to volunteering 50 hours per calendar year (approximately 4 hours per month)
