Responsibilities Include:
- Welcome and check-donors
- Answer donor questions and explain the donation process as necessary
- Ensure each donor reads pre-donation materials
- Offer promotional items when available
- Manage donor flow and communicate with Vitalant staff as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service
- Set up and maintain cleanliness in Reception and Refreshment areas
- Keep the refreshment area clean and restocked
- Ensure donors are offered a snack and drink after their procedure.
- Check to see if the donors were provided post-donation information before leaving
- Report any adverse post-donation physical reactions to staff
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check with SSN if 18 or older
- Ability to effectively communicate and provide excellent customer service
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor
- Comfortable working with people from diverse communities and backgrounds
- Commit to volunteering 50 hours per calendar year (approximately 4 hours per month)
