ORGANIZATION: The KLM Foundation

The Accounting Coordinator is a volunteer role (unpaid), reporting to the Board and executive/governance committee. The AC is responsible for managing and maintaining the foundation's financial reports and records.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing financial accounting of donations and grants received
  • Assisting in timely preparation of annual budgets
  • Assisting with annual filings and reporting (i.e., Form 990, state filings, etc.)
  • Coordinating with Board and committee to:
    • determine appropriate funds allocation
    • ensure funding/budgets for programs
    • prepare donor receipts for signature
  • Coordinating with the Fundraising Coordinator to account for/verify expected funds from events
  • Understanding and supporting the foundation's mission, purpose, and policies
  • Attending board meetings and trainings as required

Requirements:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2. Must have basic knowledge of accounting
  3. Exhibit excellent communication and writing skills
  4. Exhibit excellent time management skills
  5. Be reliable and responsible to meet demands
  6. Be passionate about community service and philanthropy
  7. Commit to at least 1-2 hours of service per month, if necessary
  8. Commit to at least 2 years as a volunteer

Note: This opportunity may be used for college course credit. The role can be performed anywhere within the United States. All candidates must reside within the United States. We cannot support international volunteers or court-mandated community service hours.
