Resilience, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the mental health of students, as well as reducing mass shootings, suicide, and depression. Resilience, Inc also works to combat declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues.

Our organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through five core topics; self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting, and effective decision-making. Resilience, Inc. also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, and overall well-being.

Our mission is to teach SEL at every school in the country. It is a tough challenge, but we know "No Challenge, No Change." Resilience offers internship programs that require at least a 4 month commitment with a minimum of 5 hours per week. There are flexible start and end dates with the option to continue after meeting the minimum requirement

Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Public Relations (PR) Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in the field of PR, where you will assist in implementing PR strategies, managing media relations, and supporting various projects to enhance our company's public image and client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates looking to gain practical PR skills and jumpstart their career in communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting press releases, media pitches, and other PR materials.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile media contact lists.
  • Support in organizing and coordinating interviews and promotional activities.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and media outlets.
  • Provide administrative support to the PR team as needed.
  • Strong networking abilities to build relationships with stakeholders, influencers, and industry leaders.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of the English language.
  • Professional writing skills, capable of crafting persuasive and engaging content for various PR materials.
  • Familiarity with media landscapes and an understanding of how to effectively pitch stories to journalists and influencers.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and their role in PR and brand promotion.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in written materials and maintaining professional standards.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • A passion for public relations and a genuine interest in promoting the Resilience Inc. brand.
