Mission Statement
Hope for Cameroon is a registered apolitical non-governmental organization located in Montreal (Canada) and Douala (Cameroon) that aims to improve the livelihoods of internally displaced persons, particularly women, youth, and children, who are victims of the Anglophone crisis. Through our initiatives, we provide access to quality transformational educational opportunities, community development and entrepreneurial training programs, and essential resources to foster positive change and sustainable development in our communities. Our core mission is to sustainably uplift and support marginalized communities, especially those displaced by conflict. By championing quality transformational education and fostering entrepreneurial growth, we pave the way for self-reliance and cultivate leaders who make a difference. All our endeavors are rooted in the principles of sustainable development, ensuring a brighter, more balanced future for all.
Description
Our recent initiatives include the Seeding Hope Entrepreneurship Project (SHEP), which aimed to economically empower women through entrepreneurship training, business mentorship programs, and small business loans. This summer 27 participants have received funding and a 100 were trained and received certificates. Upcoming is our Back to School Campaign, which will finance displaced children’s tuition and school supplies for a year. Last year, thanks to our supporters, we were able to fund the education of 100 children and had the joy of seeing them succeed with remarkable grades!
