Allelon Hospice is looking a compassionate, caring person to make phone calls once a week to patients or their caregivers to make sure they have all their supplies before the coming weekend. We are looking for a volunteer that lives in the Pueblo, Walsenburg or Canon City Area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Place a call once weekly to patients or their caregiver, either on Wednesday afternoons or early Thursday mornings.
- Inquire as to any supply/medication needs they have before the coming weekend.
- Notify the Volunteer Coordinator of any needs.
- Chart calls on a provided worksheet or shared drive.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Caring, friendly and compassionate toward the elderly
- Ability to make phone calls on Wednesday afternoons or Thursday Mornings
- Ability to record phone calls
- Ability to keep patient information confidential
- Volunteer time will vary depending on length of phone conversations, but usually 30 min to 1 hour per week.
- Wednesday afternoons or early Thrusday mornings
