On Saturday, December 14th, Santa will be stopping by the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History! We will be holding our annunal event, All Aboard for Holiday Fun! and we really need wonderful volunteer to help make this another happy holiday event for the Kennesaw community. We need volunteers who can check visitors and members into the museum, help in the gift shop, assist in holiday craft making, and even assist Santa!
If you are avaible, All Aboard For Holiday Fun! runs on Saturday, Decmber 14th, 2024 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Volunteers would be asked to come in around 8:30am but volunteers can also work in shifts throughout the day. Morning and Afternoon shifts available.

Mission Statement
The mission of The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is to collect, preserve, and interpret artifacts relating to the role of locomotives in the history of the South. Civil War railroad history, featuring the Great Locomotive Chase and the Civil War locomotive the General, and the manufacture and operation of locomotives during the post Civil War industrialization of the South, will be highlighted through the presentation of exhibits, educational programs relating to the Civil War, the Glover Steam Locomotive Collection, modern railroads, and railroading in the South.
Description
The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is located in Kennesaw, Georgia, 22 miles north of downtown Atlanta. The Southern Museum is part of the Smithsonian Affiliations Program and includes Civil War and railroad exhibitions, an early 20th century locomotive factory, a library/archive, and the Jolley Education Center.
