Dallas Responds at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church exists to embody Christ’s love and compassion by providing safe spaces, essential support, and advocacy for those on the margins of society. We serve migrant and asylum-seeking communities, unsheltered neighbors in our city, and those facing displacement abroad through our international partnerships, including Safe Spaces Lebanon. Grounded in our commitment to radical hospitality and inclusivity, we strive to meet immediate needs while empowering individuals and families to move forward with dignity and hope. Our work extends to all marginalized communities, embracing diversity and fostering an environment where everyone can experience God’s love, justice, and peace. Together, we build bridges across cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic boundaries, creating a world where compassion leads the way and every person has a place to belong.

Description

Dallas Responds is a compassionate outreach ministry of Oak Lawn United Methodist Church dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations locally and globally. Our mission extends to migrant and asylum-seeking families passing through Dallas, unsheltered neighbors within our community, and displaced individuals internationally, particularly through partnerships like Safe Spaces Lebanon.

Guided by our faith and a commitment to inclusivity, Dallas Responds offers immediate assistance, long-term support, and a welcoming presence to those facing hardship, injustice, or displacement. From providing food, clothing, and shelter to offering resources for spiritual and emotional support, we work to bridge gaps and build communities rooted in love, justice, and hope. Through advocacy, direct aid, and partnerships, we serve all marginalized groups, embracing diversity and striving to create safe spaces where every person can feel valued and uplifted.
