Mission Statement
"Building Bridges for Elder Immigrants" Our mission is to bridge the gap between elderly immigrants and their communities. We recognize that they often face cultural isolation, language barriers, and the pressure to adapt, which can lead to a deep sense of cultural loss. Fostering genuine connections between generations. Support the preservation of traditional customs, languages, and practices that may have been lost through assimilation. We constantly remind ourselves, How can we both conform to cultural norms and adapt while safeguarding our cultural heritage.
Description
Heritage Bridges is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving cultural diversity among communities. We believe celebrating and preserving heritage strengthens our shared future, creating a sense of belonging and connection. Heritage Bridges offers a variety of free programs to support this mission, with a particular focus on empowering immigrant communities to overcome language and cultural barriers. Our programs include weekly English classes that emphasize practical language skills for day-to-day life, classes for older adults to build confidence in navigating new environments, and workshops for families that celebrate cultural traditions. Additional programs include calligraphy classes, AAPI events, and more!
