Special. Valued. Difference-Maker. Appreciated. Essential.

These are just some of the words that I use to describe our Assisteo Hospice Volunteer Team. My name is Brian Hetzer, and I am the Volunteer Coordinator for Assisteo Hospice, serving the greater Phoenix area/Maricopa County. Assisteo Hospice is a military Veteran centric hospice. Over half of our patients served in the military. It’s a privilege and honor to provide exceptional clinical care, encouragement, and support to these men and women.

Assisteo’s Volunteer Program is an essential part of that care. Our Volunteer Program includes folks of all ages who provide weekly visits to patients, some who play music, provide support by bringing animals (dogs, cats, etc.), engage in art with patients, and some volunteers that make crafts for patients. Additionally, we have Volunteers that provide administrative support to our Volunteer Program, office staff and our overall hospice program. Truly, it’s an all-hands on deck approach to quality care.

What I'm looking for at the moment is an individial or small group of folks interested in putting together some Veteran specific, Patroitic-themed small artificial flower arrangements. We give these as gifts to our patients. For the ladies, we've used teacups and for the gents, mugs or the like. Green foam is glued inside and then the artificial flowers (e.g. red, white, blue) glued into the foam. I'm definitely open to some additional creativity. I'm looking for about 20 of these to be made. We can discuss the supplies/materials needed.

If you are interested, have questions, etc., please reach out. Let's chat.
